3 Steps to Living a Peaceful Life

Life is full of ups and downs, and it can be easy to get caught up in the chaos and stress of it all. You may be wondering if peace is even attainable. I’m here to tell you that it is, but first let’s define what a PeaceFilled Life is.

A PeaceFilled Life does not mean that you are always happy, joyful, uplifted or even peaceful. It does not guarantee that you will “always” be anything. It is embracing life for what it is and shifting your perspective. Where life’s occurences used to make you feel uncomfortable, scared, or stressed, you learn that there isn’t anything to fear. You learn to get comfortable being uncomfortable because the reward is so great. You learn that stress does nothing for you or your situation and you begin to apply the skills you’ve learned to manage it. Living a PeaceFilled Life means that you use the tools that you have when things get uncomfortable, scary or stressful. You have what you need to bring you back to YOU.

With a few simple steps, you can cultivate a more peaceful and mindful approach to life. Here are three steps to get started:

  1. Practice Gratitude: Take time each day to reflect on the things you are grateful for. This could be as simple as appreciating the beauty of nature or the kindness of a friend. It can be as complex as picking out silver linings from your current. By focusing on the positive aspects of your life, you can cultivate a more peaceful and content mindset. By deciding that your life is a life of abundance and greatness, you attract more abundance and greatness. You become unshakeable in the face of adversity and you arise a new, unbothered being.
  2. Meditate: Meditation is a powerful tool for cultivating inner peace and calm. I cannot say it enough, be still. Even just a few minutes of meditation each day can help you see things clearly. It helps you identify when you are being given exactly what you asked for. It helps you reduce the chatter and eliminate the distractions. There are many different types of meditation, so experiment and find the one that works best for you.
  3. Simplify Your Life: Clutter and chaos can and will contribute to feelings of stress and overwhelm. Take some time to declutter your physical space and simplify your schedule. Say “no” – even if you’re the person you have to say “no” to. You are not missing out. Any and everything that is meant for you will find you. By focusing on the things that truly matter and letting go of the rest, you can create a more peaceful and fulfilling life.

Try incorporating these three steps into your daily practice until it becomes habit. You are the creator of your destiny. You can cultivate a more peaceful and mindful approach to life. Remember, peace is not something that can be achieved overnight. You will not arrive. Instead, you will steadily practice living peacefully and use those tools when you feel out of sync.
